KNOW THYSELF XX: THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN BEING AND THE PERSONALITY

KNOW THYSELF XX

THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN BEING AND THE PERSONALITY

Identity

Being (spirit self, I AM) is a state, a resonant experience of wholeness as quality, subjective, and intimate. Pure perception without content; I simply Am.

This is difficult to grasp or appreciate in our everyday reality.

Intuitively we fall into this state when in love, reverie or meditation; all fine perception is heightened. Millions of delicate, invisible, and receptive antennae spread into infinity, highly sensitive of space itself. It is about motion and quality.

However Being is not equipped for three-dimensional existence. In order to accumulate experience in energy management of different sorts, a form is required, a structure that enables it to connect with and distinguish itself from its surroundings. The body provides such a form, and through it personality develops. These are almost the same thing, manifesting both the visible and subtle structure that surrounds Being.

In the same way that Being needs a form, Consciousness requires a focal point of awareness through which to manage vitality as it weaves its innumerable textures of experience in matter. Usually, […]

FUTURE FOR LITTLE GIRLS

FUTURE FOR LITTLE GIRLS

In the 1950’s when I started schooling, little girls were brought up to please, make babies, and look pretty. The only avenue for growth available to the female gender was a “good” academic education. But, it offered a dubious freedom. Rote learning had been left behind a decade earlier, but not the mentality behind it. Learning and information were stressed while understanding and sensitivity were enigmatically left to fate or to the imagination. Inbred feminine survival instinct kept women repressed and neurotic on the inside, while carefully molding an appearance of acceptable freedom.

In 1965 I received a degree from an Ivy League university and a year later another. Rather than grant me freedom, my intellectual development only augmented a sense of alienation. The aggressive climate of politics, racism, continuous sensory assault, the feminist liberation campaign and other movements both diffused and exacerbated complexities, focusing almost exclusively on behavioral display and surface relief of tensions. Oppression and violence, rampant military regimes, leftist revolutions, and hopeless death tolls in the name of human rights defined the […]

FEMININE ALCHEMY: WOMAN’S SPIRITUAL JOURNEY – Part I

THE TRANSITION

(In order to understand the concept of rays and cycles, we recommend the articles listed at the end)

Once soul level is attained, there are no gender differences.  The spiritual journey, however, is tread according to gender perspective and possibility.

Women and men arrive in different ways.  To reach our goal, we rely on special faculties and abilities that are a product of our physical and hormonal structure.  More than expression, which in our modern era may be identical, this refers to perception and to the type of affinity each has with life forms.  To attain to the fullness of Being, and with it the fullness of the soul, the spiritual path for women and men necessarily comprises different styles and stages.

Physical and mental dynamics have traditionally been the property of men.  They define a linear reality that is easy to understand as common consensus.  A man’s spiritual path has been defined and systemized to embrace different temperaments and ages, serving basically masculine elements.  Today as ever, woman shares the same world, but she lives immersed in multiple unseen sensibilities that […]

ABOUT SPIRITUAL FAIRS AND CONGRESSES

ABOUT SPIRITUAL FAIRS AND CONGRESSES

The latest discoveries in science tend to corroborate age-old metaphysical principles and conscientious researchers in both fields are keen to integrate them into our world.  Equally avid, imitators, attention-seekers, and marketing experts provide the public with gadgets, tricks, programs and products that simulate spiritual technology.

Gatherings organized to inform the public about the dynamics of spirit fall into two main groupings and, unfortunately, the distinction between the two kinds of activity, as well as their purpose, is often blurred.  Any intelligent person who lives outside the range of the New Age mentality is bound to confuse categories and dismiss them both.   Here is perhaps why.

Congresses and Conferences tend to be educational as well as informative, well documented, and often revolve around a theme.  They can be as challenging as they can be boring and overly complicated. The subjects range from health research to quantum physics.  During the course of a series of talks, books and subsidiary material is made available.  Spiritual or “Mystical” Fairs, on the other hand are lively, eclectic and more obviously commercial, packed with […]
